Shira Marin, PhD, has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 35 years. She is also an educator, speaker, author, and mixed-media journal artist who is intimately engaged with the psychoactive nature of life. She runs groups using creative expression to encourage others to connect with their own inner world and the meaning of their lives.
She is also a seasoned certified Integrative Coach focused on working as a consultant and guide for individuals and change agents. She consults with organizations and businesses, as well, along with other professional clinicians.
Dr. Marin is Past-President of the Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society. She is currently serving on the membership committee of the AGPA (American Group Therapy Association).
She has also worked as adjunct faculty at John F. Kennedy University and as a Director, Trainer and Supervisor at the Community Institute for Psychotherapy. Together with creative engagement, her interests focus on the individual and society, and on developing collaborative peace-making processes through the engagement of Non-Violent Communication, imagination, and feminine values. Dr. Marin lives in Marin County, California, with her family.
